About Us
Our Mission
The mission of Union Baptist Missionary Baptist Church is in keeping with the
Great Commission of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20) and to fulfill all other
commandments, Articles of Faith and Covenants as given to us by the sacred
scriptures known as the Holy Bible.
It is also our mission to serve the community of which we are located
and be of service to help mankind whether saved or lost. After all,
we are our brother’s keeper.
Church History
The Union Baptist Church began on February 16, 1893 under the leadership of
the late Rev. J. S. Ban along with three deacons, namely Deacons Johnson,
Tyler Walker and Bob Smith. The Church structure was complete and was located
in Dillard's Alley. After this organization they soon moved to a more suitable
place located on Seventh Street, better known as "Yamicraw".
