Pastor David L. Stanley, Sr.
David L. Stanley was born the fourth of five children to Mr. Charles
and Mrs. Anna Stanley. He is a native of Dublin, Georgia.
He attended M. M. Burdell Elementary School and Northeast High School
in Macon. Rev. Stanley is an active member and a profound teacher and
preacher at Union Baptist Church here in the city. Before accepting
pastorship at Union Baptist Church, Rev. Stanley served as a Sunday
School Teacher, Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent. After
receiving God’s call to the ministry in 1985, he accepted pastoral
duties at Union Baptist Church in 1987.
As Pastor, his philosophy is the importance on instructing his flock
(and others) so they will become more knowledgeable about God’s
word. He implemented the Union Baptist Non-Accredited Bible School
to further enhance regular bible study in educating his members.
Rev. Stanley has received a Certificate of Diploma from Moody Bible College in “Old and New Testament Studies” and his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies from Carolina University in Lincolnton, North Carolina. His study is ongoing to keep abreast of God’s word.
His affiliations include The Union Baptist Association, The Georgia
Baptist Convention, and The Baptist Ministers’ Union. Also, he
has received a “Key to the City” for community work and
was selected by he citizens of Macon as one on Macon’s Most Inspirational
Speakers.
Pastor Stanley is married to Deborah Crawford Stanley and is the father
of one son, David, Jr.
